Default Need help... Leaky valve cover gasket

Arite, I recently built my motor and the valve cover gasket wont stop leaking. I would park my car in the garage and the next day see like drips of oil on the floor. Today I had my shop reinstall new valve cover gaskets and they even used superglue and still I am getting drips. Anyone have issues like this. I had new nissan gaskets so would I be able to reuse these or will I need to get new ones? Any solutions to this?

There are two kinds of gaskets on the valve covers... The perimeter ones and then seals that are around the spark plug ports. Several people have posted that they had issues with those seals leaking, unfortunatly you cant buy them seperately from nissan, they only come with the valve cover assembly. Just something to check, so you arent replacing good parts.

As a side note, I cannot imagine superglue being a good sealing agent in an application like this...

the gasket is the one that attaches to the valve cover... not the spark plug middle piece. The shop used superglue to attach the gasket on the cover to prevent leaks.

who needs rod bolts when you can just use super glue.

On a serious note, you are supposed to use RTV on part of the valve covers. Have a look at the service manual...it shows you exactly where to put the RTV and how much to use.
