Ok from now on DON'T mention anything about the Rogue Engineering Shifter. Those are the forbidden words.. I find it funny that this thread just happened to lure the same people as the last one did. Look who hasnt givin it up... So lighten up Vic.

KJY9 - as for the review you might just want to PM whoever is interested as no one seems to care. But please include me when the time comes...

I wasn't trying to bash or say anyone is better than the other. I was just posting some data about B&M. I worked with Mossy Nissan (when they were doing aftermarket parts development) on their short shifter for the Spec V and Altima so I got a lot of info about B&Ms version for the Spec V as well as TWMs version for the Spec V. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that a lot of people ran into problems with their B&M short shifter on the Spec V. Mostly broken hardware but in a few cases some fitment issues. For the ones who did not have these problems they loved the shifter. I got a chance to install/drive both and I preferred the Mossy for design reasons but the B&M unit did look very nice. If you think i'm bashing I apologize. You could go over to B15Sentra.net and do a search on B&M and you'll see the posts of what I'm talkin about

Yeah, just look. It's pretty much all the prior threads supporters, with the exception of Daking and people with or without experience with B&M, some good, some not. I wasn't going to post in this thread but, since you invited...

Right, this is all about a new shifter and has nothing to do with Rogue.

********. This guy is rehashing the same crap and has been asked to give it a rest by the admin. If he keeps it up, he should be given a strike. People who don't see that need a white cane.

Just got off the phone with Mossy. The parts person I spoke with said they don't have any plans as of yet to come out with one, but that she'd have Frank call me back tonight. I'll post if/when I hear something. You'd think that more people would be making them wouldn't ya?!?

Well since Greg Voguel left Mossy their aftermarket parts DEVELOPMENT has gone drastically. Me and him prototyped the Mossy exhaust, SS brake lines, SS clutch line, and short shifter together. Also were the first ones to bump the timing on the spec v using the Consult II. He went to another dealership and I'm not sure if he's doing the same thing up there cause I haven't been able to get a hold of him. The Short shifter that Mossy prototyped for the Spec V is now being sold by Nissan Motorsports North America. You may want to call them and see if they have any plans for the Z that Mossy is not aware of.

Ya know HFM, I've been reading these forums for about 2 months now. I didn't want to start posting until I got my z two weeks ago.
You have posted more crap on this forum and have made more personal attacks than anyone I've seen here.
Have you ever posted any useful information, or are you here merely as a nuisance to others that are here actually trying to learn or help someone else?

Just thought I would say hello in this one...after all we are all family here right?
..where is daking at?
I have only had one exp with a B&M shifter and that was in a Porsche GT3RS at the Watkins Glen Rolex race..... going into the bus stop... on the brakes then on the second downshift the shifter broke off in my hand at 140MPH.....not fun.
B&M has things happen just like any other manufacture and I am sure they work to get it right...............just like Rogue Engineering has done.

Was up BJ

Damn thats not a situation I want to be in... 140 with a shift **** in my hand. But It can happen to ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! I personally never changed a shifter. Nor have I drove with a car that was changed.. But B&M being 33% shorter then the already short OEM shifter would be real nice! How much do u guys think this will be +/-?? Is it a easy DIY? Any special tools needed?

Just a jack, a couple of stands, a socket set and about an hour or less of your time

OK, ENOUGH...everyone shut up about this Rogue conspiracy stuff.

I want to ask a serious question.

I feel the Z's transmission throw seems pretty short and tight...kinda bolt action. It's not the smoothest around, but it has a positive feel, albeit it takes a little muscle to really row through the gears with any type of speed.

That being said, why would people even want a short shifter....even if they are just slightly more prone to failure...I wouldn't go near one. Is the Z shift so godaweful that it warrants a short-shifter??

If the shifter stays together it's a tighter, crisper shift.
VERY distinctive.

OK this is very simple...we can either discuss the topic here (the B&M short shifter) or have the thread closed. It's up to you guys.
