Default diff noises...

my diff has started to make noises =\
I think it's the diff... could be the CV's... anyhow it's a clicking soudn that seems to increase with speed. I mainly hear it when moving from a stop in any gear. (It probably makes the noise in higher gears but I can't hear it over the road/exhaust/engine noise)

I'm gonna change out the oil when I can and hopefully that should help. Any suggestions?

You need to take it in and have some bolts tightened. It isn't the differential, I think it's where the halfshafts connect the the wheel area but I am not sure but I know this is becoming an issue.

I had the same ticking type problem. I brought it to the dealer and with a new trans and clutch problem was solved..

I've had a cvjoint / hub problem on a different car before and it was more like a single click when moving from a stop; alternating by direction. This clicking is continuous and it seems to increase in frequency proportionally to the speed of the car. That was my rationale for suspecting the diff... but that of course is speculation and I have not ruled out the hub or cv's. Either way it looks like a trip to the dealer will be required! =\\\\\

Now I'm debating whether I should swap the springs back to stock before I take it in. AND FURTHER... I was supposed to be at thunderhill on Monday but this looms like a dark cloud over those plans.

Also... the schedule maintenance calls for lubing of the prop shaft every so often.... where exactly to they lube it?
