Crank Pulley
Will the benefits of a crank pulley show up in dyno results? I ask because I talked to someone at TS who said that you won't see hp gains on a dyno from installing a crank pulley because all its doing is allowing the engine to rev faster. They said the only thing you would see on the dyno is the time in seconds it takes for the car to hit redline.
I just installed a crank pulley this morning. I reset the ECU, drove around for about an hour then went to the dyno. Before the crank pulley I pulled 250 tq/255 hp. After the crank pulley I pulled 246 tq/255 hp. So, if anything I am losing power.
In addition, my engine is pinging from 6500 rpm to my TS set redline of 7100. I'm hoping the pinging is due to a bad tank of gas. I don't see how a crank pulley could cause an engine to ping but admittedly I know very little about this. What is the cause of engine pinging at high rpms?
Thoughts?
