Anybody See That Nismo Article?
And also, as far as stay away from NISMO, bring your car on hotrod, I'll take you to school. I am posting a link so you can see what NISMO will do for you and to you.

With mods you can't just add them up like it's a fourth grade arithmetic problem. It's not nearly so simple. Different mods in different combinations will make different power, usually a lot lower than the sum of their individual capabilities.

In addition, i'll add that the right combination also sometimes happens to be the cheapest.
The mods in my sig will probably cost a bargain seeker less than $2000 and have shown to be good for about 25-30rwhp over stock.
It's all about the right combination.

They tested 4 tuned 350Zs, and to me the most interesting was the Motorex 350Z. It had JWT cams, flywheel and Pop Charger and new wheels and C-West Bodykit (and it had the STOCK EXHAUST). At the test track it did 0-60 in 5.1 and 1/4 at 13.7@104.6. This compared extremely well to the Stillen SMZ's (supercharged) numbers: 5.3 and 13.8@104.8.
They also tested a GReddy TT at the same time and it did 5.2 and 13.4@108.1. For comparison, their stock 350Z did 5.8 and 14.4@99.7.
For my money, and driveability and reliability (peace of mind) - NA is the way to go, particularly with the JWT parts. Imagine what would happen if they had also redone the headers, cats and full exhaust...

They did claim to test all the modded cars at the same time at the same venue, so what I find most interesting is the comparison between those cars - not the actual times themselves. This makes the Motorex car with only JWT Cams, Pop Charger and flywheel (with STOCK EXHAUST/CATS) really stand out IMHO.

Honestly I don't feel that they'd do much for me in terms of power, or at least enough to make them worth the price including installation (or time to install myself). Headers have shown nice gains on stock cars, but I think theres only so much you can modify your exhaust system before you reach the limit, so I chose the cheaper route (cats and catback).
They'd probably benefit me more if I got the cams -- But with cams + headers + install for both, you're looking at a figure not to far off from the price of a supercharger kit thats good for 7x the gains.
For those of you who say stay away from Nismo, you could just as easily say stay away from (insert favorite aftermarket manufacturer's name here). As I said before, science in this field is often times lacking. Tests often show little reproducibility. With any setup, you might get 10 hp, while your friend, with the same setup, may get 15. Is that 5 hp real or is it just environmental or dyno factors? Who's to say?

I think the stock 350Z results are typical of other magazines' results. ET's can vary greatly due to weather (temp, humidity)conditions and testing surface (type of surface, grip, etc.).

HMMM .....
Let me answer that question for you

Crawford Plenum
Crawford Headers
Crawford Cats
JWT Pop Charger
JWT Cams
Borla Exhaust
Total - 280rwhp - 260rwtq
P.S. - Pulley is on (no dyno yet) and flywheel is going to be VERY soon ... and maybe a 350EVO TB

Please update with your pulley and flywheel - that should be a near perfect NA 350Z.
Please advise me, I am concerned with my warranty, so I don't necessarily want to put on the plenum and cams at this time, but from what I've read here the headers, cats, exhaust and Pop Charger should be just fine. Are the headers worth doing without the cams and/or plenum?
Thanks in advance.
Jeffrey
Pick you headers carefully !!! Some say yes, some say no. They will add a different exhaust note. The plenum should not affect the engine warranty. The only way an add-on will void the warranty if it was the CAUSE for the problem. The local Nissan dealership here sees the plenum and says "cool".

Cody - Yes I do. It takes a sharp dip upto about 3500 then goes way up and flattens out. Doug and I discussed this and the thought is that a combo of things contributed to our current "standings" in the Dallas North Autobahn Spring Nationals !!!
1 - Weight ... I and my car is quite a bit heavier (at least 500#) and has quite a bit rotational mass at the rear ... and yeah you had your honey with you (she is what 100# soaking wet
)
2 - Fuel Map ... I tend to be fairly gentle on my car (no one in Nashville I really go run with so my fuel map is probably pretty conservative ... not for long though being we will be living fairly close
again
3 - Umm ... I remember that stop light launch where I left black stripes measuring 295mm through 2 gears ?
Anyway, not making excuses, you beat me fair and square ... it can't be the car (numbers don't lie) but I think this is mostly driver issues ...
No fear, the Dallas North Autobahn Summer Nationals are coming !!!
But back to your torque question, I will have to see if I still have my dynojet files at home. If not, I may have to go get them.
Tim ... Yes, I am going to do the G35 Coupe spoiler. I think I am going to get a good glass guy to "fill in the gaps" for me though. And hey, it's just a car ...
... if it goes away, I'll just build up another one !!!
Crawford can send you one ... $300 +shipping and yours as a core.

Well she is actually more like 140 (we work out - heh) I thought your stereo was like 300 so it would have been 160 pound diff.?

Aww yeah.

Well I can do that but I love my tires. I want my relationship with them to be long and healthy. So I don't let them smoke.

Alright, I'll get the guys together. Gonna be good....

And what about the 100# more I weigh than you !!! You have lightend your rotational mass, yet I have increased mine as well. You can put your power down quicker than I can (pulley and flywheel) ... pulley is now on ... flywheel is coming ...
But like I said, no excuses, but next time will be different !!!
It was quite cool hearing and seeing all those Z's flying down DNT !!!
