New engine bay stuff....
Thought I'd post a few pics of my new re-vamped engine bay: Crawford polished plenum, Crawford strut support, black Samco hoses & Pi-thon compression clamps, CF air finisher (painted by ZPRESENCE on 350frenzy.com) & cut engine cover for Crawford plenum (also painted by ZPRESENCE).
About the Samco hoses & Pi-thon clamp combination: due to the thicker walls of the Sanco hoses (making their O.D. larger), I would recommend either doing the Samco hoses with stock clamps or the Pi-thon clamps with the stock hoses - the hoses were a b**ch to get in the clamps and a BIGGER b**ch to then get over the fittings - took over 4 hours for 3 water hoses - yikes!! If I was doing it again I'd go with the Pi-thon clamps on the stock hoses, for sure!!
Anyway, a few pics....1st, a couple Pi-thons and a Samco......

Special thanks for Doug & his crew @ Crawford's, to ZPRESENCE for his painting shills, & the phatmitzu for the CF finisher.... and to by mechanic buddy, of course, who helped today with the hoses & clamps!

Cut the engine cover on a bandsaw & finished with my Dremel. Held the cover on an uninstalled Crawford plenum, drew a line on the under side of the cover around the plenum, backed off 1" from the line and started cutting. Did a bit at a time, re-checked, cut a little more, etc. until it fit. Then installed the plenum & strut support, set the cover on the strut bar to see where to cut the sides of the cover for the bar to fit under. Did it again a little at a time until it fit. After fitting, filled in the back of the cover where the remaining "V6" & "3.5" were with epoxy so my paint-guy could shave off V6 & 3.5 & paint.
After all that, I like it better without the cover - ha!

I was thinking the same thing - Ha! - it does look better in person. The red bolt caps in the photos for some reason tend to overwhelm the bay in the photos??!! I still may change the caps on the front of the engine to chrome caps. I'll see how that looks.
