I don't think so, cause my CEL came on when I disconnected my console and started the car. It was easily reset, but I think the Service Engine Soon Light would come on at a certain mileage interval. Not entirely sure though.

Umm the service engine soon light does not come on when you need to do your service, lol..

For instance, my high flow cats cracked and therefor my service engine soon ( SES ) light came on.

I don't think we even have a check engine light ( CEL )? Only a CEL is just a common term thatservice engine soon light ( SES ) . is used so you hear it more often.

No, like I said, I think they are just using CEL as a common term because you just dont hear SES very often.

Of course, I could be wrong *shrugs*

Depends what's wrong. I reset my battery when mine came on when I had cracked cats, but it came on 30 miles later until the problems was fixed. Even then I needed the code cleared out.

Just disconnect it for 30 seconds then put it back on. Let us know if it worked.

BTW, what is the EVAP system? Sorry, I am not THAT much into the mechanics of my car. I can fix simple things, install simple things, but not to much beyond that.

Like I said above, it turned the light off for about 30 miles or so, then it came back on. The problem will need to be addressed and then the code cleared out for it to go away compleatly.

Perhaps we should have talked in the chat room, or on aim? Lol..
