Be the first to build a 560Z, you might stand a chance then.

Joking aside, beating them at what? Acceleration, cornering, braking, looks?

Race them on a real track and don't let it pass you.

Nos is the only way to do it cheaply.. It also depends how modded the STI is. I now that in the track they are hard to beat. This things turn so easily and they are fast in the straght. We have seen G35 beat them in the track, however not without some equipment (like Swaybars ,lowering springs and a Nice set of tires).
The only way I seen STI's in the back mirror is with NOS.

What do STI's run. They have the advantage of AWD but they have to rev really high and drop the clutch to get great launches which most people won't do because they will destroy their tranny. The STI turbos are very small and run out of breath very quickly. You could easily take one on the freeway. With a full exhuast, intake, and chip, it should be no problem.

a little off . most people will have minor boltons, and they run mid to high 12's all day. a medium to highly modded n/a z will still have problems handlin them stock. they r goooooood b1tches.

Swap in the G35X awd drive-train......do the AEBS stroker kit plus mandatory bolt-ons. No problemo !

slicks might help a wee bit. turbos a sure fire way to win. or just get em on a roll as has been said.

they beat you on the launch, they wont really pull away from there, but you wont catch up either.

From a stop - just work your clutch right. They have to rev and dump - not too good for the car. If you just feather your clutch a bit out of the hole, you will beat them of the jump.
After that, I agree that stock to stock it is pretty even.

a stock STi has it all over a stock 350Z guys.....even if the STi is not driven all that well.

They are quick cars indeed, and not all that hard to launch properly. The Z by comparison is harder to get a truly awesome launch with (IMHO - having driven both cars extensively - yours may vary). Even with basic bolt ons, it will not be an easy run for sure.... will net you close times on the strip (STi is a mid 13 second car out of the box, and can gop easily high 12's with relatively minor work compared to a Z).

Easiest way - an Evo, a turboback, a boost controller, and a reflashed ecu Kiss the STi good bye

I agree with Z1 insofar as the Z is a very hard car to drive to it's max - even stock.

There are millions of ways to beat them, but when it all comes down to it, more power and out drive them. Its up to you to spend the cash and practice.

you'll spend WELL over 10Gs in NA mods to beat a STi off the line. If that's too much either get a bottle or suck it up and get a turbo. That is the only way you have a chance in the 1/4.

From a roll you can take them with exhaust, pullies, and test pipes. They are FAST downlow - not too fast up top.

The awd will actually slow you down, 1 because, the weight of all the parts 500lb+ 2. a stock 350z has 287hp ,losing 10%-15% at the crank on 2 wheels, if u had the awd u are splitting the 287hp - 10-15% on all 4 wheels.

Don't sit on the Sti, its a very fast car, My cousin has a sti and he's a bad driver and couldn't launch it so when he raced me (350z touring + nismo exhaust and headers) he ran away from me after 3rd gear with 2 passangers. The 350z is to damn heavy, And also that 300hp is under rated on the sti . Before I bought my Z, I test drove the sti and that thing is frwakin fast, but the z is so damn sexy...I suggest u buy a greddy tt....

my 2 cents
