timing-belt?
I know all VQ's since the 2.0 liter VQ use a timing-chain. How would you be able to switch to a timing belt. This site has a extra strong timing belt listed.

How many miles do you plan on putting on your 350 before selling it?
I won't say timing chains won't last forever, but they'll definitely last a real long time. It used to be that timing belts were mucho more quieter in operation than timing chains, but Nissan has "perfected" the quiet timing chain. It's 4x quieter than the timing chain in my SE-R (SR20DE engine) and that motor is reasonably quiet. I'd go as far as even say it's quieter than the timing belt in the previous 300ZX.
If anything, I'd be more concerned w/ how long the water pump lasts.
Michael.

I know maxima timing chains have lasted 250,000 miles. Good deal there.

you still have conventional accessory belts (alternator, A/C, power steering etc.) which need to be changed every 50K miles or so...
