Best Bang for the buck mods for an Automatic
Hello Everyone,
I would like to start off by saying hello to everyone on this board. I have had the Z for about two months now and just now got around to posting on this board. I was wondering what mods are the best bang for the buck. I want the most power without going to crazy with N20 or forced induction. Most of the searches I did only show power gains on cars with 6 speed manual transmissions.
Am just happy with this car.
Thanks for all the help.

I'm also looking for the best bang for your buck mod for my Automatic. I've searched and it seems the JWT Popcharger seems to be it. Sins4U33 ran a 14.1 in his Auto with just a popcharger.

Here is what i would get first.
1. Jim Wolf Tech POP Charger. (jimwolftechnology.com around $90 bucks for 5-6 hp.
2. Borla Dual Exhaust. Similar sound to stock, slightly deeper, 12ph gain. $400.
3. Unorthordox Racing Light Weight Pully's. $300 7-9hp. I noticed a very nice gain in pull after this was installed. Make sure you have someone knowledgable to do the install.
4. Change out your differential fluid. Use Royal Purple or Mobile one 75w 90 weight.
Down the road:
Headers ( I recommned DC Sports) affordable, great quality and very good gains with a slight impact on exhuast sound.
The mods i've done thus far have produced very noticable power increases, especially at higher rpm's.
Good luck.

Definately start off with the pop charger. I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and I've definately noticed the difference. I also have the grounding kit installed prior to that. To me the idling and shifting has definately improved specially when using the manual mode.

Best bang for the buck on an AT would be a High-Stall Torque Converter. Cost would be between $500-$1000 for the TC and installation. You can significantly improve your times w/o affecting daily driving too much if you set it up right.

Wake up Mr D, perhaps all Z drivers are not equiped with all of the arms and legs required to drive a manual. In your world they would all be banished to vehicles with 3 wheels available in any colour as long as it's blue.
