Cool air?
So as a new owner I've been thinking about mods and poking around the engine room (love that Japanese terminology!) and the service manual, and I found that the upper intake plenum is heated (at the junction to the throttle body) with hot engine colant from the heads!
Given this, can a "cool air intake" actually do anything to provide cooler air? (Are the claimed gains instead from airflow changes, resonances, etc?)
Given that the plenum is likely heated to improve warm-up and cold weather driveability/emissions, has anyone tried shutting off this coolant flow? (Valve or disconnect, don't bypass!)
(Or is this yet another subject that I should be searching the archives for???)
