FOr them at least. there must be a reason, ? i just can't think of one. why would someone want the air to go into the enigine bay instead of the radiator, maybe stagnant air in the engine bay is really bad and thats why there is a big whole. i have no clue. ps do

These panels don't redirect the airflow at all.... If you look under your hood at the front you will notice weather stripping the keeps the air in the the high pressure zone in front of radiator... You will get more air into your air intake by leaving these panels out..
More air will be pushed in from above and below the air intake...
not worth the $$$$$$ IMO....

It's a torque damper...not dampener.

Yea... everytime I go to install the wires we sell them! As far as the plenum goes, I WAS supposed to go TT on the car but the company I want to work with is dragging their feet. Sooooo we will see.

So putting these torque shock thingys in is supposed to increase power because you won't be losing it to engine tilting???

Wouldn't urethane mounts do the same thing?

the cooling panel has nothing to do with intakes...it is there to ensure the air passes through the radiator and not into the engine bay.

In all honesty, these, as well as the damper (on a Z at least) are more dress up than function

Exactly what the weather stripping does.... check it out..

I get mad wheel hope at the drag strip. Will the dampers and/or stiffer springs help?

Oh, what type of plenum is on Jeff's car?

Actually, dampener is acceptable as well.

Damper:

Dampener:
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=dampener

Both would actually work.

Well, after looking a bit more it is actually hard to tell if dampener is OK, but in either case I think damper is definitely more appropriate, since dampener is definitely something that gets something else wet, and you wouldn't want people to think that the engine damper is leaky.

First off our motors dont spool unless you have a turbo under the hood, and you dont. Second, if the Tilton FW causes the motor to rock enough to the point where you need a damper, then its an unbalanced POS that I wont be buying....

if you nail thethrottle to the floor with the tilton... heck even if you just tap it the RPM's jump up to peg the rev limiter that fast...

my car hits redline faster then a supercharged or TT z w/ the tilton flywheel...

when it comes down to it... ive never stood infront of a motor to see how much it moves between the different flywheel combinstations etc etc...

but thinking about it now... with less mass being turned... i would think the motor would move less with a lighter flywheel & clutch setup then with the stock junk...

did you have to remove the strut bar or the plenum to install this it sure looks like it. Also as the power and respone of a motor increases , and it keeps the same gearing its power delivery becomes faster and mroe responsive and as a result more violent. now imagine neutral+revvieg+ more power and responsiveness+violent power delivery because the engine his now essentially more overpowered than the factory intended it to be+= violent shaking. Its called experience 101. If i had a torque dampner on my RSX TYPE S i would not be here talking to you today. I loved my car until the day the motor mounts tore out. haha. That sux. I even had Energy Suspension motor mount inserts sitting in my trunk for months because i could feel my stock ones wearing but no one wanted to install them i should have gone to the ES HQ in San Clemente. I later learned that a tourque damper expecially one with a spring is better than stiff motor mounts because the engine needs to be in sync with the tranny and if only the tranny has absolutely stiff as a rock mounts that don;t let it move, durring driivng as your subgrame takes bumps through the supension and force is sent though the frame it is not equally distributed to the engine and transmission and thus instead of both parts absrobing road changes in synchronisse the two parts move at different rates and react differently to the same stimuli and movement and yaw for the onew that like fifhy tailing and drifffffff. so what does a spring on the tourque dampner do?

It allow the engine and transmission to work dynamically as one unit and the shock as was said before holds them both in place because they both have pre-engineered existing motor mounts hey will both react the same toward the dampener and road stimuli. Andhte spring dampend shock even more to allow cabin comfort and smoth operation of clutch and driveline pieces as wells as decline wheel hop

unfortuatnly jeff never gets to drive his car... but the short time I was able to drive it i felt no abnormal rattling in the cabin... one day ill have the $ to get one on my car... then ill tell ya!

energy doesnt make mounts for our car yet unfortunatly atleast they didnt in the last time i checked with them...

the spring on the damper absorbs the small shocks... this is why i think there is none of that rattling like with other dampers...

Did this bolt right in or will it needs to be grinded down a bit to get it to fit (like Stillen)?
