no install problems... was direct bolt on... can not be used with some damping adjustable shocks (will not beable to adjust damping with the damper in place...

these are a special order item now... takes about 45 days to bring in to the states...

Default How is the Stillen dampener compare to the 5Zigen?

I see it on your site and it's much cheaper. I believe they are the same. How is built quality?

DAMPENER is not how you spell dampener?
I ran into the same thing when shopping for a steering "damper-dampener" for my Yamaha V-Max.

As an expert in the english language-LOL I thought dampener was correct as the root word is "to dampen" but the consensus out there seems to still want to call them "dampers"

I still disagree and think that "dampener" is correct.

A "dampener" creates dampness.

The stillen one does cost alot less... does the same thing... is not as visually stimulating as the 5Zigen...

Show car = 5Zigen damper
Go car = Stillen Damper

I don't know, if you like blue then the 5Zigen is better looking I guess. Personally I would rather have the red (stillen) in my engine bay. I guess it doesn't have gold looking coils on one end so it could be less fancy in appearance, but I don't have gold teeth either

i just put on my stillen engine damper last night....install is straight forward...but was a pain in the *** due to the tight location...i also had to re-drill the holes in the bracket because they weren't accurate...it seems to be working well...btw...it really isn't red...i hate the color actually...it is more like an annodized pink

I called Stillen and they said the dampener is in production and won't be out again for a couple weeks. It seems like a good value.

Now that you mention the pink (ugh) I think I'm gonna call back and ask them to do some in blue or black

This looks like it bolts to the plenum,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,If that is true...

Considering the frailty of what lies below the plenum...(look and you'l see what I mean).....doesn't this risk busting the lower intake manifold under extreme torque; e.i. dumping the clutch

I think a engine dampener on a TT'd engine would help and prevent the poor old engine mounts from being torn from the chassis or destroyed by the high torque loads. So what's the special price? I need one.

Cheers
