Default 1/4 mile time with MOD LIST!!!

I think it would be a good idea if we could all put are 1/4mile time with list of mods that way other 350z owners will have an idea of what to get to obtain better 1/4 mile times. List rims/tires to!

1/4mile =13.9

Mods: Injen Cold Air intake, synthetic oil

rims/tires:stock track rims with stock bridgestone tires

^what i was gonna say^ you cant compare two ppls 1/4 times bc not everyone is a perf driver, has same tires, and weather plays a big part.

Dragging has a lot to do with the driver, so much so, it's impossible to draw comparisons. Just figure that the Z stock will have times of 13.8-14.1, with basic mods, 13.6-13.9, turbocharged/supercharged/nitrous, 12.0-13.3. I'm sure someone with a turbo setup and a good differntial/clutch could make it into the high 11s.

saw a guy with only an intake pull a 13.6 yet others cant hit that with full boltons, helps that he was power shifting which some of us dont like to do.

Why is powershifting so bad? Basically you are just matching revs, right? When I race I just about always powershift as it provides a smoother transition (shift) so it seems like its better on the tranny and tires. I don't redline when I do this, but do let go of the gas a little bit and depending on which gear I shift into my rpm matching might be 500-1000 rpm off. Is this bad, and if so why?

a friend's friend hit 13.5 in an auto Z with just intake/exhaust and test pipes. Not too shabby. I think he had upgraded tires tho.

powershifting is keeping it floored while shifting, this can seriously damage your clutch and tranny if done wrong. even if done right it will wear things much faster.

13.9 is completely reasonable with intake and performance tires.

well, I have an intake, test pipes, g-kit, pulley and ran:

13.910 @ 101.3 w/ 2.089 60ft (best ET & 60ft - highest trap was 101.9)
(on drag radials - but still no grip - shitty track)

Auto G Coupe - not bad in my book...

Oh yeah, it was around 85 deg., 50-60% humidity, about 50 ft above sea level

I'm going to a better track after I get my plenum and exhaust installed in a few weeks, and we'll see if we can get that ET down and that trap up.... I'm guessing/hoping 13.7 @103

fyi hey guys trap speed does not have that much to do with your final et so its kinda off to say that his trap could have gotten him a 13.6. if youve ever noticed guys running slicks will run noticeably lower traps with better ets, while street tires will run higher traps and higher ets. its a common misconception but the most important thing is just to look at the et

Wrong. Anybody that knows anything about drag racing will tell you that my car has a lot left in it e.t. wise if I am only running 13.7 with a 104mph trap....a RWD or AWD car with a time like this can run a lower e.t. obviously the problem is the launch. The things you need to look at are 60ft, trap and e.t. Obviously if a WRX is running 13.6 @ 98 vs a Z running 13.7 @ 104 which car do you think can work on the launch some more and get the e.t. down? Get what I'm saying...?

awd cars always trap lower bc they get there quicker due to better traction, same goes for slicks. a 13.7@104 is a good time but theres not that much more for you to get out of it without changing your setup significantly, you need traction obbiously. now if you were to add slicks then you would run a lower et with a lower mph bc you were not spinning the tires as much to get going. the wrx got a better et but less mph due to having enough traction to cover the first 60 ft much faster which then allows him to finish the run in less time, if he were to launch worse his trap could change and so would his et.

1/4 ET is one part 60 foot and one part MPH. 60 foot shows how quick your car is out of the hole. MPH shows how quick your car really is. An old saying is "MPH shows horsepower". 60 foot shows launching skills.

most important factors on time are driver, traction, weight and temperature.

If you go to the track with a bra, 1/2 tank of gas, run with your spare tire and your buddy on the car, don't expect 13s soon, even with boltons...

I did 13.9 at 102 bone stock and could have done better. Best Mph was 103.8. With better tires and intake and exhaust I expect sub 13.5... will go to track soon and let you know
