Default Tranny Problems?

I have a 04 Performance and when I try to slip the car into first while going around 10MPH or less, with the clutch pushed in, I get a WHOOZZZINNN sound.

Is this normal????? I drove my brothers bimmer the other day and it doesn't make any noise when doing the same thing.

the problem is... you are trying to go into first when you shouldn't be in first... you only need to go into first gear when the car is at a standstill... it you are rolling, you only need second gear to get up and go... trust me, the Zmakes enough torque to get you moving

The Tranny works fine but it is no way a refined piece of machinery. I had to have my transmission replaced when I had 10K on my 03 Z. The replacement transmission has been OK, no more grind, but it is still very notchy or chunky feeling and when the trans is in neutral with the clutch out it sounds like the through out bearing and the rest of the internals are going to rattle out of car. I do realize that rear wheel drive cars transmissions are a louder then FWD vehicles but the Z trans rattles worse then most others.
