Default Best mod yet!

SQUILL, this one mainly goes out to you. I just moved from Colorado Springs (>6,000 ft elevation) to North Carolina (~500 ft) and all I can say is wow! I thought the car was quick before, but now that I finally get all the power Nissan designed it with I am so much happier!

I've heard this is like a 25% increase just from changing altitude and I can believe it! It pulls so much more.

Screw death valley. The dead sea is the lowest point on earth. If you can dodge the salt pillars and suicide bombers, I am sure it would be one great ride.

hee hee wow nice mod i mean it usualy takes like 5-8 grand to get a 25% increase in engine output right!!!!!!

But you got to move for free!!!!

damn you got out of this terrible economy as well!!! Probably the $$$ goes farther over there than over here too!!!!

Damnit this is the best mod for the 350z that ive ever heard off!!!LOL..Ive thought alot about moving as well maybe texas or airozona...somewhere where there is no snow!!!!!!All my family is in socal and the way they drone on about how terrible it is kind of dissapoints me i always thought i would go back..(born newport beach)

I hate snow and non F/I cars in colorado!!!!!

Man this mod of yours sounds great heeh ee... i c an sell my grossly over priced townhome on the stupid golf course here in broomfield ....get a bigger house for the same money and get 25% more power and move for free!!!!! Damn why didnt i think of this mod first!!!!

Does that altitude really restrict THAT much performance?

Unfortunatly yes. At bandimeer speedway up here 350z's are doing well to run mid to high 15's stock. Maybe more like 20% loss but its a really big difference between here and sea level.

You know it does! And there's not as much traffic, and the city's not as horribly designed as C-Springs, and people talk so much slower...

Yes, that's why there is such a huge correction factor on the dynos used at altitude. Subjectively, I did a launch on a back road at a few hundred RPM less than I would use in Colorado and the tires lit up for the whole gear. I couldn't make that happen in the Springs even if I dumped the clutch (well, going forward as well as burning out...)

So much more power... ::

Air Pressure in/H2 --- Percent --- Difference --- Air Density

Sea Level --- 29.92..... 100.00%.... 00.00%....... 1.000
1,000 Ft ---- 28.86....... 96.46%.... 03.54%....... 0.997
2,000 Ft ---- 27.82....... 92.98%.... 07.02%....... 0.993
3,000 Ft ---- 26.81....... 89.60%.... 10.40%....... 0.989
4,000 Ft ---- 25.84....... 86.36%.... 13.64%....... 0.986
5,000 Ft ---- 24.90....... 83.22%.... 16.78%....... 0.982
6,000 Ft ---- 23.98....... 80.15%.... 19.85%....... 0.979

I'm at 3,000 feet and my dyno-butt can sure tell the difference when I'm at sea level.
