Edge Racing TQ Converter N/A = gains??
There have been a few 5AT owners with FI that have gone with a custom torque converter from Edge Racing and have been happy with the mod. I do not plan on going FI and would like to hear from anyone who has done this modification on a normally aspirated car. Any before and after dynos, 1/4 mile slips or any proof that this mod is really worth the time and money to get it done? I definately think there is potential for a torque converter to do good things (as I completely understand how they work), I am just not sure how bad the stock one on our car really is. All the sales guys are going to say the same thing. I would personally like to hear it from some other people who have first hand experience.
pm Gurgenpb, he had the TQ coverter on his car (a G35 sedan) - it WAS n/a, but he's installing a PE TT kit right now...
this is also something that I'm contemplating, esp. if I decide to stay N/A... raising the stall speed to 3000 RPM's w/ an LSD and drag slicks would be deadly...

Are you saying that the stock LSD is not good enough to realize the power potential of this mod? I would certainly hope that is not the case as I would rather spend the money on the upgraded LSD before the TQ converter then. I guess I would like to see some numbers or legitimate proof from someone that this is worth my time to take out the TQ converter, send it in and wait for it to come back and install it. My Z is my daily driver so taking the car out of commission kinda sucks logistically, but if it is worth it then I will be all over it.
