Mine was made in Apr/04, so it is truly an 04.5,....I think 04.5's are the ones made after 01/04........

difference: The 04.5 ECU's have a different program than the 03's and 04's (manufactured in 03).

THey changed their emissions coding for ULEV status... messed up everything...

the earlier 04s are ok.. but if your ECU has a nonlettered coding, then you're screwed.. thats the only way to tell what version ecu you have.

Where in this car is the ECU physically located. Is it difficult to get out?

I have an '04 5AT purchased in October '03. My my recent dyno debut indicates a change may have happened earlier. My hp numbers were not pleasing but there was a huge change in timing showed between shifts. May just be a bad flash on my car from factory. I am taking it to Nissan next week to get some anwers or a very good lie!!!

Technosquare has pics on their site showing where the ECU is and how to remove it.

wait a sec, so does that mean the 04.5's will have more noticeable gains than earlier models?
