[SIZE=3] Wouldn't it be nice to turn the vdc switch on when you want to and off when you want to and not have to keep turning it off everytime you start the engine (except in rain/snow)? I wish someone would develop a toggle switch or something that would give me better/more control over this feature.
Any ideas, engineers/inventors/gear-heads/geeks?

 

I will have something avaliable anyday for you.. One of the members here has created and sold these before but we are revamping it and making it into a smaller box. It is all plug and play and taps right into the switch itself. Please email me and I will update you...

Can you post an updat here once you are done, since I'm gettting same size tires all round I want to be able to disable VDC.

 

Yes it will work with just traction control amd you can disable VDC with the regular switch, this just does it automatically when you get in the car, but will have a bypass toggle too which will allow stock operation.... I will post info soon...

Its basically the same thing but we are going a little different route to accomplish it... User preference, plus I am not sure if theirs has a toggle switch to disable the whole unit like ours will. The benefit of that would be in the winter or in the rain... I will have more info on ours soon...

 

KPtechnologies 'traction control memory' module just remembers the state of the VDC when the vehicle is shut off. There is no need for a switch to enable or disable it, the 'memory' takes care of that.

Once you shut VDC off it stays off until YOU turn it back on, no matter how many times you shut the car off and turn it back on. With our module the driver has complete control over the entire system.

If the 'other' module is the one designed and made my 'fiddler' (from FA) I just spoke with him about his 'new' design. It will be interesting to see if he implements the 'memory' feature as that is the best way to go.

I meant right now, we all know that when VDC is off, when the wheels start to spin, the computer will still kick in to get the traction, that means it is not possible to do burnouts...etc those kind of tricks.... so your system can be able to off the computer aids entirely?

If that's the case, I cannot wait to see the system!

The VDC on my G35 won't kick in when it is off unless I'm totally abusing the car. Our module is the equivalent of pushing the VDC button. With my VDC off I can spin the tires in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and yes, when shifting into 4th....

What is needed is some way of completely disengaging the VDC for running at the track, when it's turn off at the moment it still will try to correct the car if you push the limits, if a module could be run in parallel with the wheel sensors and trick the computer that all is well with the skew angle ie maybe feed the signal from the rear wheels to the inputs of the front sensors and when the unit is off inputs are back to normal or am I way off on this idea.

With my Z, the ONLY way i can get some scratch is with vdc off, but i can when it is. Don't know why u can't in yours.

 

May I ask what the hell you are doing to your poor car?

If VDC kicks in when its off it's because a failure is emminant. Thats a good thing, trust me.

hit the button and install a switch between the brake peddle switch and the ecu this will blind the ecu so it doesnt see the brake being pressed. that way you can control the ebc and the vdc.
VDC will not kick in during throttle over steer (drift the car and tell me that it kicked in) however the ebc will if your hitting the brake and the gas at the same time i.e. burnouts.
