Road Warrior,
Have you installed the Y-pipe yet? Just curious if you've gained a *slight* rasp from it (assuming you have non-oem exhaust).
Many of us, inclusing myself, gained a small rasp after the Fujitsubo Y-pipe. I wonder if this new design w. the 'H' section cured this issue. The function of the 'H' section is for accoustic reasons ... if it were meant as a simple brace, it would be a lot easier and simpler to weld a tab there.

....sucks, especially since i waited so long to get the darn thing.however, since you bring this up i will address this issue and provide feedback once i have the y pipe installed. i am wondering if the JIC y pipe has a rasp only because their pipes are seperated more so from the collector than the fuji design. there are a few other manufacturers that have the same design as the fuji and i have heard of complaints of a rasp....specifically, the obx y pipe and i am not sure of the others such as the kumura y pipe
also, right now i do have the OEM exhaust from the cat back...i am planning to install the y pipe at the same time as the fuji ti catback when it shows up
should be soon

well i am very curious to see the results myself now...
It's not all that surprising actually. The source of this rasp is the muffler itself ... likely the flat outter walls. These non-oem y-pipe altered the accoustics in such a way that readily excites the muffler under particular conditions. The only way to combat it is either actively dampening the 'buzzing' part (very hard) or carefully tune out the particular excitation frequency via carefully placed and sized resonators or 'H' crossover.
This largely theoretical ... we won't know until you try
I'll keep my fingers crossed!

don't know off hand, but i called the manufacturers/distributors to make sure my exhaust components were properly sized....sorry i can't give specifics but that would be my recommendation if you want to be sure
