Question Got 1400 bucks to spare, is it even worth using up?

My Z is still stock. I have 1400 bucks to blow. Is it even worth modding my car with only 1400 bucks? Since I'm gonna autoX my car, should I just focus on new tires, wheels, and brake upgrades? Or do you all think I should add some bolt-ons? I'm indecisive, any suggestions?

Get a crawford plenum, crawford cats, unorthodox racing pulley, and JWT intake.

I agree except that if you go with Kinetix instead of Crawford, you won't have to buy the $200 replacement strut bar.
But either way you can't go wrong.
Best bang for the buck.

Id go Crawford for the plenum to be safe. No one with the new kinetix plenum has seen a cold winter yet. I sure woudln't want to be the guinea pig with the cold winters around me adleast. But of course if you dont drive it in the winter you should be fine. Also if the stock manifold is restricted, and needs to be highered how can kinetix get better gains then crawford without raising it like crawford did.

Thanks Glen

If your going to auto x, talk to Eagle1 on this or other forums. I agree with him, our cars have more than enough HP for autox events, I would spend the cash on the suspension.

EVO350's 3.9 Final Drive.

No reviews yet or anything, but it's what I've really been lusting after here lately.

If you are focusing on autocross, nothing will help you more than a good set of tires and a good alignment...start there

This is my 1st season of AutoX and I think that the best mod you could do to your car is in your driving ability. I have added about $2000 in mods to my car and they will not do me a bit of good until I can learn to drive it. If your are set on modding for autox events, I would highly advise suspension components.

put it towards coilovers and swaybars. especially for autox. you will get much more use out of it than 1400 in bolt ons.

get some coilovers, they are your biggest mod, save 500 more and get a good set, that is a big investement, the rest wont really help you in auto cross, only suspension mods really, autox has so many tight turns.

I just sold all my engine mods. I had jwt popcharger, crawford plenum, and u/r crank pulley. I kept the kinetix cats just bc its too much of a pain to uninstall them. I'm selling them because I honestly think they are a waste of money; sure, I gained maybe 20hp total, but 20hp for 1000+ kinda sucks. I'm looking now towards lightweight wheels/tires, good suspension, or just getting a new/old project car.

Yeah i'm thinking along these lines too. And later on maybe a lightweight flywheel, new clutch, and NISMO LSD with the EVO final drive kit.
