Default Nismo LSD

Does the nismo LSD give more power to the wheels, and is it noticable from the stock LSD differential on a touring Z?

Thanks Glen

Noticable more power to the ground. I like the nismo LSD alot. Makes some noise, but it's worth it.

The Diff cooler is not required, but it looks great and does a fine job on keeping the fuild cool...

I Love/Hate the LSD... It makes awful sounds when going around tight turns slow, parking, etc... I notice it alot when the diff is cold, seems to go away after driving a bit...

The difference once going over 15mph is huge... Traction coming out of turns while hard on the gas is awesome. It just plants and goes... Love It!

i have the KAAZ 2-way set at 60%....made a huge difference on the track. very predictable (once you get use to it) coming out hard in corners

Performance Nissan say's that it's a good idea to do the cooler at the same time. Basicly, the cooler is an extra $95 to add on. If you add it later, you have to pay labor to remove the diff. again and buy new fluid. Do it at the same time. It's cheaper in the long run.

Does it give more power going straight forward not around corners? Also how bad is the noise driving around? Can i install it myself or does a tech at Nissan need to do?

Thanks for all you help Glen.

I think it added more power both ways. I have mine set at 60% and the noise is not bad at all. I get a noise like something thumping in the trunk. It's only when you are hard turning, like turning a corner or a U-turn/ And when you are giving it gas. At least thats when I notice it. As you increase from 60%, the noise will be more present. As for install, I paid about $400 at Performance Nissan. You need special tools, and shims to set it up to spec.. You also have to remove the entire diff. from the car. I would recomend a shop. I beleive Performance can ship you a pre-built Diff. and you can swap it yourself and ship your stocker back to them.

I stared out at the medium setting and just switched it to low. Mine isn't noisy at all but when you get on / off the gas while cornering, the car pushes and pulls. It's hard to keep the car in the middle of the road. Does anyone else feel this?

Traction is unbeliveable coming out of corners. Powering out of corners is very stable and predictable.
