Default too loud?

Going to sell my Borla true dual for the PRO-1. The borla was just too stock looking and sounding for me. Anyone running this setup pls post your comments on noise level, highway drone, and rasp.

-Test pipes
-3" y-pipe
-3" pro-1 exhaust or (rsr, invidia)

Invidia is rather loud so you may want to hear it in person. I had mine for 4 weeks and put the silencers in. The sound is nothing like a FART CAN and it has a nice tone to it. I think adding a Y pipe would even make it louder ( Correct me if I am Wrong ). I wish I had some audio clips of mine.

dollar99, take the resonators out of the true dual kit. it get much more audible! try it, you can just replace the resonator pipe sections with straight exhuast piping at your local muffler shop. this way you can easily reinstall the resonators if your not happy with the sound or decide to sell it. i have the resonated testpipes so there was no need for the additonal resonators in the exhaust. i removed them & really like my exhaust now.......just a thought!

FYI: the Pro-1 costs $400-415 SHIPPED NEW!

I might try taking out the resonators. I've thought about removing the muffler on the borla, and just have straight pipes coming back from the resonators.

pro-1 +test pipes? yeah, thats gonna be about as loud as you can get without straight pipes.

too loud? that depends, but if that isnt too loud, nothing is.

I admit that by itself it, the sound a bit louder and deeper than stock but its made to be that way, with no rasp.
Add high flow cats and then headers and you may want to go back to stock.
It screams and pulls like a bit&h in heat around 4k to redline. With a nice growl at idle.

The stock look comes in handy when/if you get pulled over by the cops. Its a stealth look.

I've been meaning to post a video clip on it and I will do it tomorrow.

I have the RSR plus JIC y-pipe. When I added the y-pipe it didn't really get any louder.

after experiencing test pipes with an after market exhaust system first hand id recommend getting high flow cats or at the least test pipes with resonators. My car was RIDICULOUSLY loud with test pipes, as you can see i have a true dual exhaust, X pipe, 2.5" piping and HUGE HKS carbon/ti mufflers. My exhaust was so loud that my friends could hear me coming over from almost a mile away from their house, no exaggeration. My other friend has a '65 mustang gt350, no cats, just straight pipes and flow master mufflers. My 350z was louder than his mustang (BTW it has a 302 not a 289). I went to my local muffler shop, they sliced the test pipes, threw in some high flow cats and now my car sounds like a mix between a supra and a ferrari.

I hve the pro-1 setup and took my test pipes out b/c it sounded like a formula one race car.

i loved it at first but i work at a company that is very old and the ppl are old there and they kept giving me a hard time.

i am looking to get the borla exhaust and put the test pipes back in.

r we talking about the Pro-N1??? cause thats a loud exhaust...i was loving that exhaust....until true dual came out...i want more power than i do noise....im still awaiting the invidia gt200....suppose to be a true dual with a decent sound...i think most true duals that are out now are very quiet....but the invidia and the pro-n1 sound amazing....i couldn't pick really if i was told to...
