It will slip but with any clutch, slipping it wears it out more quickly.
Its not smooth slip, though, slight juddering happens...

I'll probably have mine up the 1/4 mile some time towards the end of the month, so we'll see.

does the clutch feel consistant? My tilton feels like it will grab differently each time. sometimes I can slip it with no problems and other times I can't get it to slip at all.

Its constant dependent on temperature. At a given temperature, its constant day to day, yeah.

Glad to hear you are liking your carbon carbon clutch set up!!

When you install your pulley it will make a big difference in how it rev's... you wont believe it till you actually see it...

The carbon carbon clutch will last longer per dollar spent then the other clutches. I got 25000 miles out of my semi street clutch with 4 track days on it and maybe 80 1/4mile runs.. plus daily driving... I didnt change it because I wanted to... I changed it to test a new street version... There was still pleanty of life on my Semi street clutch left.

The Full-Street versions are now in stock... They are for the driver who is going to stay NA and make up to 300 to the wheels...

The carbon-carbon clutch is damn sexy though...

Sorry for going off topic. Go back onto topic after answering my short and quick question: What's the full street clutch made out of and is it still the nice lightweight 16 pounds?

if the material used in the other disk has very very very similar wear charactoristics you are ok...

the single carbon carbon clutch set up is also a good option for a daily driver car if the street clutch price isnt high enough...

Clutch now slips right the way to the redline, without the car moving. Not sure if it was caused by clutch failure or a problem with the release mechanism but I'll find out, tomorrow whether the resultant heat has burnt out one or both of the plates.

you may have slipped the clutch too much...

the instructions that are in with the clutch state that after X number of miles will check for wear with the tools provided in the kit.

You may have worn the plates so much that they are not making contact and they just need to be re-set.

We will see what tilton has to say about the clutch when they get it. This is the first carbon-carbon clutch for a Z33 that has failed for us...

We have an idea of what it was from the install when they changed where it engauges on the clutch pedal which they were not supposed to do, but we will see...

Well, I got less than 1 week of driving out of it, which is less than 500 miles.
I barely slipped the clutch, at all because...well...its not easy to slip, which is part of the problem of learning to use it.

It started to slip of its own accord, which alerted me to a potential clutch failure but by the time I was in a position to take it to a garage (after the weekend), I had to get it towed. Only reason I found out that it slips to 5k was trying to get it off the back of the truck and into a parking bay.

The clutch should have been taken out of the car, today but I haven't had a chance to speak to anybody to see whether there is any damage to it, either wear or from heat.

We didn't receive any instructions with the clutch, though, nor did we receive the pedal-stop or the correct (number or size) of bolts. All we did receive was the clutch, flywheel and 2 spare, metal spacer plates.

Tilton are adamant that there's a problem with the release bearing, preventing the clutch from disengaging properly. However, as you say, I'm hoping to find out more, very soon.

Up until THAT point, however...the clutch/flywheel combination was phenomenal. My car is just cursed...
