Default Latest 6MT Tranny version = ??? any good???

There appeared to be little talk of manual tranny issues as of late. Has Nissan finally gotten it right? What is the latest 6MT tranny revision anyways? rev.5?

I started to grind 5th whenever the tranny is cold (i.e. in the morning) for the last 7,500+ miles (currently coming up to 36,000). On occassions 6th gear will also get hang up or grind. I've got the very 1st batch of the new '04s, which has what I believe the rev.3 tranny.

I'm planning on taking it in to the dealer in hope of a replacement. I'm curious if anyone has better luck w. the latest revision?

Thanks,

Latest was released in roughly October of last year, and is the most current. I had mine replaced as one of the first few, and it is night and day. I encourage everyone to get their's replaced, it has a much different feel from rev 1-3? or 4 trannies, I forget which the most current is, 4 or 5. Anyhow, take it in, definitely. I have 15k miles on this tranny and it has been perfect. I could not go into half of the gears AT ALL when I got mine replaced.

Thanks ... I thought about that one as well. But, w. enough stock of the current revision, it may take a while before they are willing to let people have the new '05s. Anything is better than what I've got right now.

At about 25k miles, I had the ver. 5 tranny installed in my '03 (early VIN - it was a preorder car). They installed a new clutch pedal with the new tranny.
I like the feel of the new clutch, but the transmission is still problematic. The shifter is a bit lighter in operation, but I still have rough shifts into 2nd and 3rd when cold. If anything, the new tranny is worse in that regard... on my car, at least :-( I Will have to get that looked at....

Interesting finds guys. My car has an July 03 build, got in September 03 (it's an 04 model year car), and at 25k miles I have had zero issues whatsoever.

Default 6MT Replacement

Just had my 03 G35 replaced last month. Started by hanging up going into 6th, then started grinding on every shift into 6th, mileage 12700. Diagonsis bad 6th syncro...

New trans has about 500 miles on it, I can feel 3rd catch the syncro on a fairly regular basis, shifting is somewhat easier esp. 1-2.

My Dec. '02 Build G35 6MT is still shifting perfectly

No Problems at all.
