Default Manual tranny fluid & Nissan warranty

Hello,

If I replace the tranny fluid with anything other than the factory Nissan tranny fluid, will this void the warranty on a 6MT?

The manual states that replacing the tranny fluid on a A/T with anything other than genuine Nissan fluid will void warranty, but doesn't mention anything about MT's. Any solid advice?

If I remember correctly I read somewhere that the 6mt tranny fluid should not be changed until some really high miles (60k+ or was it 90k+). I think on the a/t they have to be changed after 30k.

Actually, I've been reading these threads and noticed that people are doing their first tranny fluid change anywhere from 3,000 - 6,000 miles. Just not sure if changing the MT fluid will void warranty.

While I'm at it, can anyone also recommend a good tranny fluid? I was leaning towards Amsoil as their products have gone into my other vehicle and I think they're great. I've been hearing a lot of Royal Purple and Redline. Any suggestions?

Redline made my Spec V's transmission livable, but I'm not sure what it will do for the Z. I'll probably try it soon...

I used Redline Super Light Shockproof @ break in (1200 miles). No tranny issues . . .40K miles vin 0153. A couple others who have changed to the same dont have issues either. I know of 3 others with similar driving styles and stock fluid that have gotten or are getting new transmissions.

Not to say it is all in the fluid, but it does work. BTW, stock fluid looked like water .

The Redline Shockproof is exactly what I've been reading on other forums. But, I heard that this is a tranny oil designed for racing applications? Also, what would be the ideal Shockproof weight, 'Super Light' or 'Light Weight'? I noticed the Shockproof tranny oil doesn't have any weight numbers.

The Genuine Nissan MTF is generally prefered. However, the stocker fluid just isn't heavy duty enough for above average use. For that, a pefrect (alledgedly) full synthetic substitute, the Shell Spirax S 75W90.

I doubt your Redline change exacerbated you trannies demise, it most likely prolonged it.

WRT Redline and Royal Purple , they both have been tested again and again on pro-race circuits. The reason they are not useually used in fleets is that they cost more (but you also get what you pay for) in this case.
