Yeah, I'm trying to find a place to put the Stillen cooler too...

Goth: Looks like there is room to hang the cooler between the radiator and a Stillen FMIC. Yes/No???

I first put my setup and had the power steering cooler on the passenger side and the oil cooler on the driver side:

and yes I leveled it.

I have since changed the setup... The oil lines had no place to hide and were sitting too low to the ground, so I attached the oil cooler to the power steering cooler and shortened the oil lines. Much more efficient. (no pics right now)

After reading this post I bought the used Earl's oil cooler kit off another member in the forum. The setup looks easy enoghf but my question is this. I have a TN kit with stock oil pan and no spacer.

Do I need a spacer or aftermarket pan to do an oil cooler kit?
Do I need to add more oil and how much on a stock pan no spacer setup?

I was thinking of starting the car to lub it up, drain and install kit. Put 5 quarts in so I dont over fill the stock pan, start the car and angle the oil cooler to purge air. Turn car off and mount cooler. Then add about 1/2 quart of oil for the differance in the cooler and lines.

Anyone think 1/2 quart is good or should I put a full quart after the first startup and prime of the cooler?

Without the cooler I was averaging about 195F and peaking at about 227F.

The cooler dropped oil temps by about 15F~25F.

Edit: I'm measuring temps from an AEM Oil Temp Gauge with the sending unit mounted "before" the cooler.

180F - Isn't that to low. I was told that below 210F is no good and in the long run (year or two) it may cause damage to the short block. What about cold nights or winter time? You could easy go below 180F. Do you have thermostat?

One of my friends, that builds bikes, told me that oil temp should be 205 -210F. Anything below it is no good. He also told me that if I live in Cali. or FL. I my be ok without having termostat but here in NY I need it because of the winter and cold nights in fall.

Someone help me here.

^^^ Does it really matter how you install cooling core??? If the core horns are pointing up, down or to the side. I'm confused (it got me thinking, since I will like to do this project my self). I found oil cooler installs of other people on the net, on different cars and some are installed right side up, some up side down and some to the side
