Not sure. There are 3 PCV hoses, according to the manual, though; the one on the pass side where the actual PCV valve is, the one on the dr. side going to the intake tube, and there's a third on the front of the engine connecting the two valve covers. I just assumed any inlet air needed for anything came through the intake.

The two that connect the valve covers are basically a balance tube for the upper engine. To me, it just stands to reason that if you are pulling air out, there has to be a source to pull fresh air it.

I noticed on the turbonetics that the welded in fitting for the end of the drivers side line in the intake tube is facing interally so it receives Incomeing fresh air, on the Vortechs its mickey Mouse but non the less in the Incomeing filtered air area.

The TN has more of a ram effect that insists that incomeing air is rammed into the line leading to the rear of the engine.

As I said, I want to do a smoke test on it through RPM ranges ( Like a lit cigarette ) to see just what the characteristics are

BTW----I went through my suppliers stock of PREFORMED 5/8 hoses for different applications ( Ford Chev Whatever ) and quickly found one that was a perfect U shape that I used comeing out the back, then coupled into it for the run to the front----That eliminates that "Kink" trying to make a str8 hose work

Ah, good deal on the curved hose; I may have to look around for one of those. Let me know what your smoke test results are.

I have a catch can that I want to install but I want to use the intake and PCV hoses so that no oil gets into my intake. Can I just route the lines to the can, cap off the intake connection, and install a breather filter on the valve cover?

Where do I need to install it to keep atleast most of the oil out of the intake? I'm thinking PCV?

Yes and yes. breather filter goes on dr. side under intake and cap off intake like you said. Catch can goes inline with pass side PCV line. That's essentially how I did mine, except I put a small catch on the dr. side breather hose, rather than a filter.

So basically, we need 2 catch cans?

A friend with an M Coupe was saying to connect the PCV hose to the can and put a breather filter on top. I'm so confused that I just have parts laying here. I want to make sure I do this right. I need pics.

It wouldnt hurt, although in a perfect world the left bank fresh air intake will be minimal

Bump.... How'd the smoke test go on the Driver's side Re-circ? I think I'm just going to cap mine off with a filter.
