Also my car is from FL . . rececntly moved to TX and is getting a taste of its first severe winter . . .you think that might have aggravated the issue ?

i took the axle out tonight..wasnt a problem, having a real hard time though finding the right grease..i have an advanced auto, autozone and napa to choose from..none have molykote m77 obviously but then i read that citgo lithoplex mp wheel bearing grease is a good solution which i cant find..what did everyone use with success and how long has ur click been gone..thanks in advance..also i did find this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/DOW-CORNING-...item416d4f1baa which is what it calls for and considering just buying this but id rather find something local if it works just as good..

yes it actually does matter quite a bit once you get into it..has to be insolulable and withstand alot of heat, and be ok against diff. elements and such and be successful to withstand metal to metal contact..not all greases are the same..a plane jane wheel bearing grease will wear off in no time..i plan to do this once and not have the issue come back

This works great.... You can get it at Napa and many other autoparts.
Make sure you also coat the Splines as well.

If you must have M77, but it's 3x the money by the time you add in shipping.

Gonna do this tomorrow as I had to take the axles off to get to the rear wheel bearings when I replaced them. Now that I have the m77 grease, I wanna grease my axles properly.

I realize this is an old thread but I had a few questions? I have a ticking noise coming from the rear when I let off of the accelerator at higher speeds. I just noticed the noise after I had a new clutch installed. Could the axle be the issue or could it be something to do with the clutch?

I dought it's your clutch.
Another problem area are the u-joints in the drive shaft.
Look under the car for any signs of greese splatter on the bottom side of the tunnel in the area around the u-joint.
