Lube drive shaft flange bolts and bushing bolts
I used PB Blaster

Lube rear bolt and disconnect wheel sensor harness

Lube axle stub bolts, then remove those bolts
Hang axles with wire or zip ties so they are not just dangling free

Remove drive shaft flange bolts

Place jack under pumpkin and remove pumpkin bushing bolts.
Im using a transmission jack adapter to make it a little easier.
I picked up this adapter @ Harbor Freight for about $40.

Remove rear nut

now lower jack by about 2", then push jack forward just enough for the rear stud to slide out. Now reach around top and you will see a rubber hose clamped onto the differential cover. Disconnect [dont cut unless you have a replacement hose] that hose [sorry forgot to take picture of this step]. Then you can completely lower the jack and remove the pumpkin.
Install is the Reverse.
TIP for Install: raise pumpkin in place with rear stud in its hole, then install bushing bolts and install till hand tight. Then hand tight the rear nut. Then torque the bushing bolts. Then torque the rear bolt. Going little by little like this ensures a smooth install because alignment wont give you any hassle.

Thanks! This made the swap super easy!
Hardest part was getting the bolts in while holding the new one up.
I skipped taking the sway bar off - plenty of room with it on.
What a difference! No more one wheel wonder for me - i wouldn't of guessed what extra pull it would have. I thought i was very good at feathering the gas and getting the car to accelerate with limited wheel spin but lsd is the way to go!

hey guys, know this is a late reply but i just recently did my swap and i have started to get a buzzing electrical noise that pulsates my brake pedals. My guess is that i went wrong somewhere with the abs sensor, I left the sensor from the stock open diff connected to the car and connected it to the LSD. This was two days ago and today i started getting this problem, just wondering if anyone has encountered this before.
Thanks
Thanks
I am about to swap in a g37s VLSD with 3.69 gears. If i buy the auto i have to swap driveshaft flanges.. Is this task as simple as it looks? just taking the center nut off and pulling it out? Does it need pressed in? New seals? Thanks in advance.
