Default Replacing front shocks, what the heck is this nut?

So I'm in the middle of my front shock replacement for the 2004 350Z. Front right is taken out and replaced. I was in the process of doing the front left by unbolting the two arm bolts at the top. As I was doing one, I hear a clank and something hitting the ground.

this is what I find.

Not the bolt I was unscrewing and I don't see any similar bolts on the other side that was finished. Anyone have a clue where this goes?

Oops sorry for putting this in the wrong section. Should be moved to suspension....

Upon further research on the website, I guess this is it.
