Default Brian Crower stage 3 cam. Anyone running one without a tune?

I'm looking at buying a set of these cams, and the BC site says that tuning the ECU is required.

I've currently got a set of JWT Stage 2 cams which isn't that far off the specs of the BC cam, and they run fine.

Specs of BC cams
lift.........459"/.459"

duration...272°/272°

JWT cams specs

Lift...........430/.430

Duration....256/256

The rest of the engine is 11:1cr, stock tb, 3" air tube, full length headers, free flow exhaust [no cats].

I would 100% do a tune irregardless of what cams you install. You may very well loose power doing a cam install without a tune but there are too many variables.

You'd be wasting your time and money w/o the tune. Take it to Z1 Motorsports in Carrolton, GA. Jon will fix you up.

Why is this a question

Can I turbo my car with big injectors and expect it to run safely?

Well, my current JWT S2 cams ran fine without any tuning.

I had a cam cap break, which caused one of the cams to break for which I found out today that I will be able to just buy a replacement for the broken S2 cam.

I know to get the most potential from any performance mod , of course, a tune is the way to go.

I didn't explain my question, but what I really wanted to know was if the vehicle would have been driveable with that cam until I could get a tune at some time down the road.

why would you spend the time to put cams in it, if you don't want to finish it off with a tune?
