Official ECU reset procedure
While perusing the service manual, I came across the procedures for "Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning", "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" and "Idle Air Volume Learning". What everyone else (incl TechnoSquare) calls "resetting the ECU", Nissan calls "Idle Air Volume Learning". So I compiled the procedures with relevant data and no "fluff" into a single document.
I apologize if this has been done before...

I'm confused.....I have been looking for the overall ECU reset to see if it quickens my car after adding bolt-on's.
What exactly does following your pdf result in?!?

After bolt-ons it can help to force the ECU to re-learn the air-flow pattern and sensor inputs. The procedure Technosquare describes as an "ECU reset" is really the "Idle Air Volume Learning" procedure, so it can help adjust the A/F ratio if you'd added mods to allow more air in/out.

i actually did the first part of technosquares ecu reset yesterday...i did notice that the car seemed to run a little bit different after the reset. (smoother in my opinion). but looking at the pdf...that third step, in the nissan one, seems to be different than the first step of technosquare's
maybe i'll try that nissan one...it couldn't hurt i guess considering after i reset the ecu i went and bought a k&n drop in...probably should do it again anyways

This appears to be incorrect.
The procedure is the same as the Idle air re-learn up until step 8. Instead of releasing within 3 seconds of the CEL going solid, you do the following;
4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking)
5. Wait about 10 second.
6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.
7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink but at a a faster rate).
8. Turn ignition switch to ?OFF? position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone.
If the CEL light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. Timing is EXTREMELY critical to resetting the ECU.
