Have loved Z cars for 40+ years but never worked out where I could own one. Been an old school chevy hot rod guy my whole life. Picked up a 2003 350z, working on an LS swap. Should be fun.
Welcome to the forum. I'm a Chevy hot rod guy as well and plan on doing an LS swap for my Z if the engine decides to die.
What's the story on those motor mounts? Why did you go with the 6L80 instead of a T56, T6060, etc? Are you going to drag the car or do road / track duty?
Using the fueled racing kit, complete. Long tube. Car was originally automatic. Went 6L80e w/paddle shift,(new one just released) will handle 650ft lbs tq. Will be a semi-daily driver with some 1/4 mile bracket racing .the auto will be more consistent. Have a 502/T56 super magnum in the chevelle when I want to row my own.
It’s been a while since I updated. BEEN a bit crazy with the covid crazyness. Still working everyday here so this is a night and maybe weekend project. D/S installed. Shifter, etc. FABBED up ECU mount where the pax airbag goes. HIt wall with the a/C system. After fighting it a while, I ripped out everything and installed a vintage air gen 4 universal system. Had to ditch the GM compressor for a dirty dingo low mount mini sanden . RAdiator and hoses mounted.MADE all A/C hoses, installed and vacuum tested. Getting closer
Awesome Build! Are you using a 350z style radiator or did you need to buy one that is specific to the LS engine? Ive got a 2008 350Z that i want to swap out to an LS in the future, but it needs a radiator now. So wasnt sure if i should just get something cheap to fix now or, if im able to use the same radiator in the future with the LS build, i may just go with quality like you did.
