It was said that one of the negative effects of the mod would be gas mileage. Does anyone know what type of difference we would be talking? Of course I mean how much more would mileage be affected under the same driving conditions.

TIA

Under cruising conditions and light throttle conditions, there should be no change in MPG.

It wouldnt suprise if even under hard driving conditions, the mileage is unchanged. The whole calibration is optimized for efficient power production, so we arent necessarily dumping more fuel into the engine. If you look at our before and after chart, there was little change to the AF ratio.

I checked their site but could not find an answer. If the gains are not from correcting the a/f then I was curious if the power comes from timing advance? If not timing then what. I recall seeing Cobb saying most intakes skewed maf readings so I assumed a/f was being corrected with this unit.

My point, is that MPG at WOT or heavy loads isn't something that is measured by most people. When you drive the car really hard, your MPG will suffer a lot. At the track, we are lucky to get 8-9 MPG beating on an NA car.

But steady state cruise, or your average MPG, should not be negatively affected.

sorry, maybe i should have quoted another statement to clarify. i personally do not care about the impact if any on MPG. i am just curious where the power increases come from if a/f is not altered if any. i figured advancing the timing hence why two maps for 91 octane and one for 93.

We are helping Cobb with some potential updates and improvements. The guys at Cobb are always updating, and adding features...always at no extra charge that you can download.
