SOLD
The Z is sold and I have several parts for sale. One of them is this 5/16 plenum spacer. This is a custom made spacer from a 5/8 spacer which was machined down to exact 5/16 thickness. It is made out of urethane plastic. It's been on the car for about 20K miles without any issues and it works just like any other 5/16 spacer. It comes with all of the necessary hardware and strut tower spacers.

That is a very good question. A spacer is a spacer. There's no magic to it. This one was on my car for quite some time and it worked flawlessly. The only issue I would be concerned with is whether it would seal up but clearly, my results prove that this is a non-issue. I guess if people do want to spend twice as much on a MD for the same thing, that's their choice.
