Damn Leemik, nice shots again. I just got some Cokin filters for the point and shooter. Did some research, seems like that Circular Polarizer/UV filter will do wonders for the sunny day shots here in Hawaii. Also bought a diffuser and a neutral density filer from B&H Photo. See how that'll turn out... sorta dabbling in filters for now... an experimentation for a newbie photographer.

Been thinking about putting down for a low end Digital SLR like the Canon Rebel or Nikon D50... man, been spending $$$ up the a$$ though, but everytime I see how nice your pics are, it piques my curiosity if a point-and-shooter with some cheap filters can get close that sort of quality to it (to people without the photographers eye... the regular Joe/Shmoe). If not, screw it, I'll pluck down the card for the Rebel/D50 (toss up) with some Hoya/B+H filters.

BTW, how'd you get this great shot? You crazy?

Well I knew I was gonna try some rolling shots of the group while driving so I made sure my shutter speed was slowish (to get a sense of speed) and f-stop was at a decent setting for the light before i set out..

Then, i took a couple of test snaps while on the road to make sure light level was good and I proceeded to snap like 75 photos lol ... just stuck my lens as far as i could out the window with my right hand (because the shutter button is on that side) and drove with left hand.. was awkward but I don't drive a mad JDM y0 car so I have to suffer haha.. My eye was always on the road.. i never looked at what i was shooting.. just snapped off like 6-7 pics in row and prayed one would come out OK

A big reason why the pics came out like they did was because of the equipment.. I was able to continuously grab shots @ like 1-2 pics a second burst .. prolly not possible with a point and shoot.. this allowed me to filter out a lot of the the bad ones later.. that and the wide 17mm lens alllowed me to capture whole cars up close one lane over..

but that's not to say it's impossible with a P&S.. just takes more patience.. try to be a passenger and take pics of people's cars on the highway :P

I'm using a B+W CPL on a the lens and being a n00b at photograhy I never knew this but you can rotate the CPL filter and it changes the effect.. until yesterday

I lol-ed at that comment because I think most of us, at one time or another, eventually realized that turning the circular polarizer filter changes the saturation. I just point at the sky and leave it at a spot that makes the sky the most blue.

I just picked up another B+W CPL last week since the first one I bought was the slim model and the Canon lens cap doesn't fit over it I use the thin CPL on the 16-35 f/2.8L and the normal sized CPL on the 70-200 f/2.8L IS
