Has anyone installed these stainless steel bolts for more bling bling in the engine bay?

You could easily go to Lowes or Home Depot for BLING BLING nuts and bolts.

 

Yes, I just installed a set. They're nice but not exactly what I was looking for. I was looking more for the true chrome shiny bolts like you'd see on a harley or a show car. Unfortunately, short of getting some custom ones done they aren't easy to find, especially in metric. The DO look better than the green bolts from the factory.

Not even close. First of all, places like that don't carry much in the way of metric bolts, much less polished ones. I tried a local supplier (largest in town) of metric bolts and he would have had to special order everything and that would have been in lots of 100.

Search the internet and you'll find places that sell metric bolts, but you'd have to hit about 4 or 5 different ones just to find all the various sizes that you'd need. Then you have the problem of polishing them or finding somebody to do it. I searched around for a couple of months and gave up because unless you plan on buying them in bulk and reselling kits, it's not worth it.

 

i am actually thinking about ordering these too, did you get brushed or polished?

I got Polished. The brushed probably look like standard SS finish that you'd get from a hardware.

 

You obviously haven't priced SS hardware. Bolts can typically run from $1 to $5 apiece depending on the size. And that's not polished. The places that sell polished stuff usually charge $1 per part to polish them.

not bad... Thats definately something that I am going to look into when I start redoing my engine bay. First, I gotta finish my interior though.

Looks like well put together kit.

 

It's actually put together very well, Warren does a good job with them. Everything is grouped into small bags based on where they go on the car. The instructions has pictures showing the location of each bag's replacements. I had a few minor problems with it, contacted Warren and he mailed out some new/replacement bolts the next day.

The only "bad" thing I can say about them is my original comment about not being exactly what I was looking for. For true show, I would have preferred to have all the bolt markings ground off first then the bolts polished to a mirror shine.

 

Yeah, from the pictures they look cheesy. Not a REAL CHROME look, more like just polished Made IN CHINA (MIC). I wonder how they compare in strength to OEM ones? Like I said, from the picture they look really poor and specially for $99.00, like others stated it looks like HOME DEPOT kit. I could be wrong?

NOpe.. But I do have a Dremmel tool and polishing kit... ... damn I'm a cheap bastard.

 

I used anodized blue bolt covers/caps. You can find them on Ebay in red and blue. They are also available in chrome.

I'll try to take some pictures this weekend if the weather clears up.

They are definitely not Chrome, they are only polished SS. The pictures don't do them justice, they appear to be high quality bolts. BTW, if you ever look at Homey Despot and check out their SS bolts, they are very high quality too. Not like packaged cheap zinc plated steel bolts you find at Wally world where you can get a bag of 100 for $5.
