yes , i painted it it with high heat paint (1200d) temp paint. it is used to paint like big chevy blocks etc. so dont worry about the paint not withstanding your exhaust temp. took about 30 min or a lil longer but thats just cuz im like a clean freaks. i through like 3-4 bed covers (house bed covers) on the car and masked off the rear bumper to make sure no overspray hit the car. and i painted till the middle of the car. so if you look under the car you can tell it looks like the whole exhaust. well hope this helped guys if you want closer pics email me and i'll send.

I just refresh paint every few months or so.....ooops, forgot it was in my signature.....

Okay, so i'm at home depot today looking for high heat aluminum spray paint with chrome cap. what i found was a "metallic" paint with chrome cap that didn't list temperature and a "high heat" paint that didn't come with a chrome cap, but not one that combined both high heat and chrome cap. Would you please tell me exactly what's written on the can and where to get it so i can have a cool project this wknd?
thanx in advance

Well, I guess different strokes. I had a dual system fabricated with a Magnoflow crossflow muffler. I sprayed it flat black with high temperature paint to HIDE it. All you can see from the back are the tips. Just the way I like it.

Hi Z BOY, If you are referring to your car, why ask me? You've done an awesome job so far.........I think silver on black would look great too....I don't think Black on a Daytona Blue is a good match though....Just my opinion....Dave

just sharing. it all depends on your color scheme and the effect you are trying to affect. blue batmobile is big on blue and black. in my opinion, bling is better, contrast is better, but that's just my preference.

Yeah, It looks great....I'm surprised I have'nt seen many previous posts of others doing it....I don't know what your muffler looked like when you got your Z, but mine looked dull and unfinished....It was a no-brainer......See you in the threads, Dave

Z BOY : I just cleaned mines good with towel/water&soap and dried it up , and applied paint coat. I did not sand. About ur rust coat situation , i really have no idea on that. im assuming as long as u didnt use a really thick grit you should be fine
