03' Hood sensor unit??????

Default 03' Hood sensor unit??????

does anybody know why my 03' track model has a hood sensor unit on the right side of the engine bay. i have my hood off curently and was test driving last night. theres no warning light on the dash or anything so why is it there? seems like a waste to me

Maybe it never did anything. The '04s do not have the sensor and I assume the 05s are the same way.

yeah thats my impression.

If i had a owners manual i would look it up in that.

Im prolly just going to take the dayum thing out.

Well, I don't believe it would give you warning. But it does function on my car because I have a compustar alarm and the installer used that sensor to trigger off the alarm if the hood is open.

nope nothing at all.

The car didnt run funny or anything. So im considering it pointless i guess.

Im just going to take it out.

The only reason i even noticed it is because i got the SS bolt kit from performance nissan. And in the kit is the bolts to that braket that has the Sensor.
