parrelel is key to leds, nice work
125 bucks for materials? im guessing you bought materials from radioshack
you can get the leds cheap off of ebay, dont worry about quality, leds will last for millions of hours, high mcd's if you want, since it takes 42 of each color in 5mm, buy 50 of each type led whichll cost less than 50 bucks (possibly 30 since its ebay)and the reflectors can be gotten for 15, and solder/wiring and resistor for less than 5 bucks, so less than 70 bucks for material, can be built in a few hours, so 100 bucks for the materials cost plus time
i do xbox led mods, im pretty sure i could build the reflectors
new to the site, but not new to the world

haha they look great, dont get me wrong. But stop acting like you did something huge. All you did was spend some time sodering wires together. Maybe it took you a while, but i dont see what the big deal is, you are acting like you performed a brain transplant.
Also, I personally have had ares luxeon led set. The led colors seem off just a bit so there were some more green tinted and some more blue tinted, it just threw off the whole sidemarker and made it look very ghetto IMO. I wouldnt mind spending the extra money at clearcorners if I were very serious about these, at least you know at clearcorners their work is going to be TOP NOTCH and relative to the price you pay. Ares, not to knock you, you are a super nice and good guy, but spending 280 dollars I had just expected more.

well i dont know what you have up your @ss but i never said i was the ****. and yes it was a lot of work. i dont see you doing anything like this. i posted up my sidemarkers just to let other people see my handy work, and answer any questions if they had some. never did i once say, "Look at me! Look at what i did! I am the king!" i don't know where you get that. and as far as Ares, i've personally never had a product from him, but i can tell you this for sure, the color of the LED isn't the fault of Brian. all LEDs, especially from a company like Luxeon, are engineered to be a specific wave length. so the color of the LEDs that you got are what they are supposed to be. you also have to remember, colors from one person's eyes to another have a great deal of differentiation.
@cuxtopher - i did get the LEDs from ebay. 30 bucks for them all. i had to by new solder, soldering braid, and an iron. that's why the materials were a lil more than they should be.

look there... your eyes or mine, you can tell its not all the same color. I loved the concept and I loved the look, but I dont like the fact that half are green and half are blue... I just spoke with ares and I want everyone to know that he has made several attempts to fix them, none being sucessful, but at least he was working with me. I just decided I could find something better to spend 280 bucks on at the time so I got a refund. Ares is a standup guy and I dont want anyone thinking he didnt try to help me out, I am just picky.

i can't tell any color diff in the pic, but then again crappy picture and most cameras that are not professional quality have difficulty picking up subtle changes in color. i believe you and that is cool that he has worked with you, i just don't appreciate you coming into a thread that i posted as information and a knowledge base and then posting up crap like that. it may not be a big deal to you, but to me, it is. I made them, I researched it, I taught myself about LEDs and circuits, I am the one who took all the time to do it right and do it well.

Good job Acree! I'm really impressed with your work. I know a little bit about electronic wiring but have a lot to learn to be able to do that! I've already thought about it but I need to do some more research. I think you did a great job and you've inspired me again to start researching doing some of my own custom lighting for my car. Good work!

Hmm for anybody that doesn't want to spend 280-330 on these I suggest picking up some LED's from www.oznium.com for only 34 cents a piece. They also come with free resistors for every led you purchase. I don't see how you would be spending 120 dollars on parts alone. All I see is glue, resistors and led's? maybe there is something else that I'm not seeing. It honestly took me about 20 minutes to make mine and have everything fit perfectly.
