in the top picture, there are actually 9 other LED's. here's a diagram of them.
the bottom picture is the board that lights up and receives the signal from the buttons on the side of the pod.
left - dimmer controls.
right - digital readout controls.

i finally got the voltage of the LEDs...
pre-resistor = 7.3V
led = 1.9V
i ordered some sample blue smt leds and my new gauge faces should be here in a couple days. i talked to one of the guys at nrauto.com on the phone. i might be able to just put blue LED's on the board, and not have to worry about the film. the LED's could maybe override it somewhat. i'll be testing and stuff this comming week.

nah, goto www.lsdiodes.com they have SMD there for $0.45!!! and you dont have to order in bulk. its awesome. i got all the test led's i need shipped for $9.95. best price i've seen anywhere. i got the gauge faces from www.nrauto.com
