In our tail lamp assembly there are a pair of 7443 (3157) per side.
Do both pair stay lit while the lights are on or just one pair?
If both, stay lit... do they both get brighter during braking (stoplamp) or just one pair?

Need to know ASAP!

i believe the bulb that is in the lower section of the housing does not get brighter. dunno. go outside and try it out.

 

Gee thanks for nothing... j/k I would, but I'm in a different ride at the moment.

 

7443 bulbs are dual filament bulbs, while 7440 bulbs are single filament. For dual filament, the dimmer filament is always on. When you tap the brakes, the brighter filament lights up.

There's also a 194 wedge bulb in each of the brake light housings. These serve as "rear side marker" lamps, so they're always on at night when you flip the lights on.
