So I bought a knee pad and made it into an elbow bad for the for the center console. It is actually quite comfortable, low profile and matches even better than the pictures would have you belive. I know it's not a mod for everybody but I am sure there are a few that want to know what I did. The trick is finding the natural fall of your elbow through your shifting movements and placing it there.

Nice fix. I, for one, seem to always get my elbow hitting the button to popup the compartment (when at rest and not shifting). This would help in alleviating that problem...
