do a search for JtAbraham, he's having a heavy duty strut sale, i think he has everything now (strut and hardware to mount). I think my total cost was like 135 and i bought the ball mounts at the dealer. his struts are like 80 bucks i think it was, and 120 with the mounting hardware. It's a good deal. They work great.

The penny trick is used if your hatch is not "popping" enough to clear the latch when you try an open it. Typically when you have a heavy spoiler, even the penny trick won't do too much.

If you have a problem with your hatch not staying open, that's where heavy-duty hatch struts will help you out. Like Mark said, I'm currently holding a sale of these (see my sig).

^^^ Very true. Hatch Struts are gas springs which utilize compressed nitrogen. The colder it gets, the less effective they are.

Also, struts tend to lose nitrogen over time, which is why some 03 and 04 Z owners experience problems even with no spoiler installed.

well the 2 pennies fixed my "popping" problem. First try now, which is great. Hopefully I dont have to worry too much about getting a dent or something like some people where mentioning.
