i would like to apply the same chrome finish to my rear strut tower cover that the chrome oem badges have. i inquired about "mirrochrome" paint but was told it would come out more polished than chrome. does anyone know where i can get my cover done with the same chrome finish the badges have?

 

Bat has a chorme overlay for the strut tower. Looks crazy nice. COntact him or do a search. I am planning to buy it very soon.

 

yeah, i bot his, but install is problematic cuz the tower bends both on lat and long axes. i should know...i'm the first to install his chrome overlay for this part. the top came out good, but the sides had wrinkles. i figure the badge approach would be best. there must be someone out there who can do this no problem. i just have to find them.

 

I believe member MGL got her emblems electroplated, this might be the process used to add the finish you are looking for. I googled for it and found this page on the process, http://www.astroelectroplating.com/new_page_6.htm

For a few hundred bucks you can get an electroplate kit. It's really easy to use and you can do as many little parts as you want. Just have to buy more materials.
