Default INGS+1 LX/Half Kit in Polyurethane

How many of you guys would be interested in an INGS+1 LX/Half kit in Polyurethane? I have been deliberating for a bit on what kit I should get and decided against the authentic since it costs too much. However, I don't want to go with a fiberglass replica either. My other option would be to mix/match another kit, but in the end, I really still have my heart set on the INGS.

If we have enough interest, one of the sponsors on this site would be willing to produce the kit in POLYURETHANE so you would not have to worry about fit/finish.

Who here would be interested?

I'm down, all day for that. What kind of lead time are we looking at, and what cost.

Ravi,
As you can see I'm still not sure what to go with. I contacted "350zforums" after viewing another thread (https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114249). He says he can get it done, but needs 18 people. I know a lot of people would be interested in this, but I'm not sure if 18 people will go through. Just trying to gauge interest since otherwise I will have to scrap this idea.

It will definately be difficult. I think a lot of people are interested, but not necessarily willing/able at this moment. Therefore, it makes it difficult to get more than 5-7 people, even though 20 may be interested.

Amit, speaking from experience with my fiberglass kit vs polyeurethane pieces I have seen, I don't think a replica eurethane kit is the way to go. If the kit doesn't fit, you're SOL. Besides that, have you ever seen a polyeurethane kit? They are heavy and feel like rubber. I wouldn't want it on my car. If they could make it in PP (polypropylene) and they garaunteed fitment, that would be the way to go. Polyeurethane is not the way to go, at least in IMO.

The guys at the shop I had my work done at reccomended fiberglass (quality fiberglass) over polyeurethane. They called the polyeuro kits , "rubber kits" and didn't like working with them. Too many don't fit well and any gaps or fitment issues can't be dealt with.

Just do your homework and make sure they get the fit right.

and true INGs are pricey so I don't blame you for trying to save cash.

Thanks for the response, Aaron. What exactly is polypropylene? How is it different from p/u? Anyways, I'm guessing this is not going to fly, but it was worth a shot since people were interested. If I can resist my urges and not buy a replica kit for a few months, I just may end up shelling the dough for the real deal. We'll have to see since I may go another route.

Also, PM'd you back on motoring.

#1) urethane knockoff pieces are pointless. the hybrid aero pieces are more flexible than urethane and lighter than fiberglass.

#2) I have logged this entire thread. Using images of the authentic ings kit, let alone, directly from our server, to promote your knockoff products is not very smart....especially if this goes to litigation.

Top secret--just wondering, do you work for Ings?

I'm just wondering--with replicas rampant on the 350z market, what type of litigation is involved? I'm curious to hear how often cases are heard and in whose favor.

Thanks for the insight....
