American Automobile law states that a car can only have 20% of its body surface covered in chrome and stay street legal

Ive seen something similar to that done to an M3. The guy has a cardomain on it. Im sure it could be done, dont know about the costs.

the prince of some arab country has an audi a8 in chrome. He only drives it at night though (for obvious reasons)

your car will weigh a crapload if you do this.

BTW anything can be chromed nowadays - I've seen them chrome a foam nerf football on TV.

granted someone may have done it, but those are computer generated images
really think theyve driven that car to that many locations to take pics? and if the locations really existed there would be captions saying where they were

Nope - those cars are real. MB made a whole fleet of chrome cars for advertising purposes. BMW back in the early 90s gold plated their lineup. Obviously the cars we're not intended for sale in chrome/gold respectively but definitely a unique look.

true. its "mirrachrome" paint, or something similar. still, ultra expensive.

I donjt think I'd ever "chrome" a Z .. but.. Polished aluminum.. that yould be SWEET

But .. hella expensive...

I was thinking the same thing - but wouldn't this be even heavier than chrome?

By the way, I thought we were talking about actually chroming panels of the car, not painting with a chrome-like paint. Chroming adds a significant amount of weight, even to rims.

Those are just chrome paint... real expensive. I wonder how durable it is to swirls.
