I ordered the Z SS license plate frame, but until is arrives I spray painted the dealer frame black, mine said NISSAN- HYUNDAI (the dealer handles both car makes). My son made fun of me driving 350Z with a Hyundai advertisment, barely noticable now.
bhahaha, I would've done the same thing!

I've seen some BEAUTIFUL tint jobs on CS. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Nice Tint..

I was thinking of getting a tint but not sure yet. Does the tinting affect the way the auto-dimming rear view mirrors? or does the mirror just not dim as much?

I haven't driven it at night yet (just got it done this morning), but when I take it out, I'll post a response for ya. Sorry.

A little. Mine doesn't go as green w/ the tint. So the darker you go, the less light it'll detect is the way it works methinks.

ZGirl has 5% on the rear which is the darkest you can go... I got a 30% on the rear 38% on the sides. Since the Z is fairly closed in you don't need extremely dark tint... especially if your interior is black. If you get the titanium films, they also tend to have a reflective quality too.

Thanks nwind21. I thought the auto-dimming function will be less functional with a darker tint. Thanks for the info. How much does a good tint job cost on average? Sorry I have no baseline to work with so I have a lot of questions.

Thanks Again.

Jill: With the 5% on the rear window, can you still see the Z on the strut brace?

Anytime.

Installers tend to charge differently. The one I went to charges per window. In the case of the Z, it's 5 windows (the tiny windows count too). It costed me 200 for the install for the LLumar titanium tint. Barely any dust trapped between the film and the window so that's good. ( In comparision, my friend's I30 with seven windows costs 230 ). Also the % tint didn't affect price for me.

There is another grade of LLumar tint above titanium which is about 40 bucks more. I forgot what it was called but it has a longer fade warranty and more reflective qualities ( I think ).

If you look close, yes, but from far away, not at all.

For anyone with a CS sitting on the fence...get your windows tinted!!! The difference is amazing, it adds so much to the car...I can't believe I almost put it off for a few months. It looks incredible. TINT YOUR WINDOWS!!

Old Skooler,

Can you see out of your driver side window at night? 20% seems rather dark. Can anyone see who the hell is driving when they look in?

ZGIRL did 35% .... how do you like it? Too light or just right?

Not trying to steal anyones thunder... but 35% is just about right IMHO. I see out fine in my Z. 20% should be okay too though... but it's really an subjective opinion.

Nope. But I've seen a few different Nissan whites and I saw pics of PPW Zs before I ordered. The color looks a lot like the Infiniti pearl white and I like that color a lot.

I see you got your pink outline... lol

Yep, I can see outside fine, but people can't really see in. No biggie. If I want people to see me, I roll the window down. The Z looks much better with the windows up, though.

From an angle, you can see it's tinted, but it's light enough that if a cop drives by and looks exactly to his left or right at me, you can't really tell it's tinted. I think it's a perfect %. By the way, I remember you asking about 20%...My dealership had 5,15,35. No 20. Sorry.

Thanks for the feedback ZGIRL.

I'm surprised they went so dark in the back. Can you see out the back window OK at night or is it tough to see what's behind you? And how is it affecting the mirror dimmer thing?

Hi ZGIRL,

How is the rear 3rd brake light covered. Did they have to remove the panel and then put the tint or did they just slip it through?

Everybody,

Any recommendation for a tinting place in Socal?

Diamond auto tint/sound in SD off the 805 on Miramar Rd. is where I get my tint jobs done.
