Default T-Tops

Nissan should have offered a T-Top option for the 350z. But since they havent, I thought it would be a good topic for discussion. Has anyone heard of or seen a Z with a t-top conversion? I feel a t-top would be the last piece of the puzzle to have the ultimate car! Please post any thoughts.

I'd have payed another 2,000 for my car if it had factory t-tops! I can't believe they don't offer it!

and curb feelers

Actually the prev. gen Z's had them, I think it would be cool myself. My last car was a targa top.. I miss it on nice days.

If anything, i think a Targa roof would be better then a T-Top, such as was on the 94-98 Toyota Supra, that i would like to see.

+2, 98 Supra TT targa is my favorite car.
Would love to see a targa done on the Z.
Was thinking of asking a body shop if it was possible to have a custom targa top done on my Z (and how much it would run), but I wouldnt have the money to pay for it right now anyway because Ive been juggling so many other mods all at once, hah. Maybe when I get some money Ill consider the mod more seriously.

Yeah id say so.
I just never really liked roadsters, always felt more comfortable in a coupe, but also I think roadsters are really ugly when the top is up. The tops just kind of look... i dunno.. chinsy. Convertible hardtops, now those are nice, but still id rather have a targa than that. I dunno, I just like having that solid window behind me and a full trunk(sort of).

For me yes because it keeps the lines of the coupe while getting the benifit of open roof, just a little combursome to put on and off as comapred to a motorized vert top. What I also like about them is that you can take the covers off and have it like a moonroff with glass tops.

I understand. The Roadster is definitely an acquired taste. Here in Florida, driving topless on a sunny day makes up for looking funky when its raining....

I wonder if its possible to customize a targa top? Im just scared of the body shop messing up! Chopping off the roof is something you just cant fix!

you can have it done; but leaking is always an issue; and the car was designed for a top; atleast to some point; and even if it was designed for without it; you lose some ridgity by removing it. a Ttop isnt as bad. but still something to consider.

the leaking issue would be the bigger problem. maybe if you paid enough and got a good enough job itd be alright.

Money, that would be a radical option when you compare it to the current differences in models, right now most of the differences in models are simple plug ins, a t-top option would mean a different body and different line like the roadster, the body would have to be reinforced like the roadster because that is one thing the 300 has and that is flex even after putting in strutbars it still flexes a bit.

I hate T-tops, they are as 70s as louvers.
Can you imagine the trunk space after you put a pair of T-tops in there with the strut bar?

I could live with a targa if it was water tight but that would never fit back there either.
